New England Conservatory Preparatory School's BrassFest 2011
Price: $50
Is there a pre-College or College-age brass musician in your household who would like to work with the best brass musicians around? They're invited to join us for a day of clinics, readings, and performances with some of the region's top brass performers, including Boston Symphony Orchestra members who teach at NEC. The day's activities are coordinated by NEC's Preparatory School brass chair, Eli Epstein.

The day begins at NEC with Registration followed by a brass quintet performance and individual instrument clinics offered by BSO veteran Norman Bolter, trombone; Cleveland Orchestra veteran Eli Epstein, horn; Kenneth Amis '93 M.M., tuba, of Empire Brass; Joseph Foley, trumpet, of the Rhode Island Philharmonic; and New York and Boston veteran Richard Kelley, trumpet.

After lunch, participants will begin with a clinic led by Norman Bolter and will play side-by-side with NEC Preparatory School faculty in a large brass ensemble coached by Eli Epstein.

Following dinner is a closing session with everyone playing in NEC's Jordan Hall. Lunch and dinner are included in $50 registration fee. Activities begin at 9:45am and run through 8:15pm.
